A soft, sexy; romantic and elegant material ideal for winter, leather is being used by designers such as Christopher Kane, Givenchy, Marc Jacobs among many others who are joining in this Winter’s trend. And the high street shops are not being left behind. Ever since Victoria Beckham risked appearing wearing leather, Marks & Spencer claims to have increased by a good percentage the sales of its leather dresses online, and that is even before they showed the dresses in their shops!
This is because leather is a timeless material. So soft to the touch that is sensual in itself. When used for dresses, skirts and trousers, leather enhances the curves giving a voluptuous look. If you want to be noticed this winter, do not forget to stock up in some good leather items. Remember that leather clothing is also an investment, like vintage clothes. The trick in wearing leather is to know how to combine it and pair it to give you an elegant aloof look rather than the 80′s rocker in disgrace look!

Accessories, The new stewards of Valentino Fashion Accessories, Maria Grazia Chiuri and Pier Paolo Piccioli, have got their red-carpet bona fides in order, so for Resort, they’ve extended the line deeper into daywear. The accessories, no surprise, are going in the same direction. (Chiuri and Piccioli, after all, began their careers at Valentino in the accessories department.) Yes, you can still find the most embellished evening bags, the satin pumps, and Chantilly lace pieces, but what really caught my eye were the more casual pieces, like these nylon backpacks. They’re done in the same soft floral prints used for many of the ready-to-wear pieces, and finished (of course!) with the Valentino bow. Adorable—if maybe a little too glamorous for a picnic in the park.

Indian Saree, I do think that Kareena looks very seductive in this butterfly saree. The strapless sexy blouse adds the extra oomph that is needed to elevate the scene. I have no idea as to what the story line of “Main aur Mrs. Khanna (Me and Mrs. Khanna)” was. But in the days of Savita Bhabi, I don’t have to extend my thought much farther to guess..
I decided not to put this in “wordless Wednesday” section, because I was concerned that story this saree might tell would not be suitable for gentle readers of this blog… not!
2010 Fashion News, Whatever Lula Wants
Fashion News, The crowd, and many others news, joined Clark for a multi-course dinner at Harvey Nichols last night, where Coco Sumner (below), Sting’s indie-rocking daughter, provided the evening’s entertainment. As for the venue, it’s no coincidence. Clark has just curated a pop-up shop at the store, with one-off pieces created by her designer friends—Erdem, Rodarte, Moschino, Rykiel, and Miu Miu among them. Add in books and music by pals Daisy de Villeneuve, Liz Goldwyn, and Melissa Auf der Mar, and you’ve got a serious destination (not to mention a good reason to overcome any ill will toward an umpteenth pop-up shop). And each purchase comes with a little custom gift from Chanel, devised in conjunction with Clark.
You know you’re doing something right when Clémence Poésy, Erdem Moralioglu, Ellen von Unwerth, Liberty Ross, and Caroline Sieber all attend your fifth birthday party. So, yes, let the record show: Lula, the London-based mag helmed by stylist Leith Clark (pictured, left, with Moralioglu), is doing something right.
“I am getting a bit choked up looking at all the people who have been with me and stuck with me for the past five years,” Clark said at dinner. “You guys add a new meaning to loyalty.”
