The Ralph Lauren fall campaign

Written on April 18th, 2009 by shamsino shouts

Fashion Models, We weren’t the only ones to notice Tao Okamoto at the recent round of shows. The newly mop-topped model landed the Ralph Lauren fall campaign, a teaser of which (at left) appeared in WWD earlier this week. We also hear that Tao is set to star in next season’s Polo Ralph Lauren ads as well—a twofer not even matched by Valentina Zelyaeva, the long-running face of the house. In this site you can find many more about fashion like as Indian Fashion, Fashion Style, Fashion, Fashion Week etc…

A Bit of a girl crush on Jenny Lewis

Written on April 18th, 2009 by shamsino shouts

Fashion Style, Indie rock ladies have always had a bit of a girl crush on Jenny Lewis, she of the auburn bangs and a seemingly endless procession of sailor rompers, tap pants, and sixties frocks. More than a few Coachella-goers this weekend will be channeling that vintage Cali vibe in pieces from Geronimo, a new line launched by Lewis’ longtime stylist Jenny Reyes. Reyes is obsessed with vintage and the tales that come with thrifted pieces, and her own line comes with an equally interesting back story. The 27-year-old designer met Lewis and her band, Rilo Kiley, after sneaking into 21+ shows at L.A.’s Spaceland back in the day. She eventually packed up her sewing machine, her art history degree, and the pattern-making skills she learned from her grandmother and headed out on the road with the band. She crisscrossed the country reworking vintage items that they found at thrift stores and making original pieces for concerts and photo shoots.

Desert Oases Coachella-Goers Cool Pool

Written on April 17th, 2009 by shahbazno shouts

It’s that time of year again, festival-goers: Time to pull out the cutoffs and Minnetonkas and take to the California desert for Coachella. But let’s face it, only amateurs spend the whole weekend at the concert. The rest of us will be stopping in for a few sets—Lykke Li, Ida Maria, Girl Talk—before retiring to a lounger at one of the Palm Springs pool parties. The Viceroy has been the king of Coachellas past—GQ took over the hotel for the past two years, and Lindsay and Paris hosted before that. This year Jelly NYC (of Williamsburg Pool Party fame) will be bringing some East Coast flavor with sets by Doug E. Fresh and Spank Rock. The Cobra Snake kids will be crowding the star-shaped pool of the Riviera Resort for the Music Loves Fashion party, which last year included Steve Aoki and about 15,000 of his closest friends. But our money is on the scene at the recently opened Ace Hotel’s Desert Gold bash. The chain hails from Portland (like quite a few of the Coachella bands), and up-and-comers like Cave Singers and Justin Power will be taking up residence beside the pool. Cool off with boozy sno-cones in a hammock while listening to the release of the new Sonic Youth album, and then hit up an after-party in one of the suites (all equipped with record players). They’ve even got souvenirs covered: limited-edition tees by Joshua Tree artists will be on sale at a Levi’s pop-up store. If, like several big-name bands, you just want to wash away the desert dust with some privacy and 400 thread-count sheets, you could head to the Parker Palm Springs. But that’s no way to kick off the summer concert season, is it?

Picture of the day Malin Akerman

Written on April 17th, 2009 by shamsino shouts

Fashion Models, Malin Akerman recently attended the premiere of her new comic book movie version watchmen at the Odeon, Leicester Square, London. Malin was wearing a beautiful black flowing gown. The gown was a transparent gown with black studs. She left her silky, smooth blonde hair open with a middle parting and making her look stunning and gorgeous. The bright blue eyes framed with black eye liner and the cherry lips made her face look flawless.

Layered gown had black satin hemlines adding grace to Malin’s beauty. Malin in one of her interviews had said that in her new venture Watchmen she had to wear a skin tight outfit which was not at all comfortable and when she used to get out of it the apparel used to stink like a human condom. The apparel was damn hot and uncomfortable. But nevertheless we wish Malin all the success in return of her hard work.

Fashion Model Minnie Mortimer’s Style

Written on April 16th, 2009 by shamsino shouts

Fashion Models, “I’ve always liked gender-bender stuff,” said Minnie Mortimer Gaghan last night at her soirée in the glassy penthouse at the Cooper Square Hotel to preview her first full collection. True to the organic origins of the line (read: making stuff I want to wear), the designer was her own best advert, wearing a gray schoolboy blazer over a cotton shirt and navy shorts teeny enough to show off her enviable legs, shod in nude suede Louboutins. “Full” is, of course, a relative term. Mortimer Gaghan has expanded her smattering of breezy shirts and shirtdresses to an eight-piece collection that now includes some tailoring, like the aforementioned jacket plus a sweet woolen pinafore, both with checked linings. Her new shirts veer into slightly more femme territory: a ruffled Victorian and a pussy-bowed silk number. But don’t be fooled. Menswear is where Mortimer Gaghan’s fashion heart is—she admits to raiding the closet of her husband, the writer-director Stephen Gaghan, who surveyed last night’s scene of girls-and-clothes with brother-in-law Topper Mortimer, Tinsley’s better half, by his side.

Dresses of Rock Stars

Written on April 16th, 2009 by shamsino shouts

Fashion Models, What was the impetus for Anna Sui’s career? “I wanted to dress rock stars and people who go to rock concerts,” said the designer at last night’s Friends of the Costume Institute event, which drew the likes of Baby Jane Holzer, Stephen Burrows, and artist and longtime Sui collaborator Hiroshi Tanabe. Sui, who will receive the CFDA’s Lifetime Achievement Award this June, shared amusing anecdotes about how she achieved her dream. Dave Navarro, for one, walked for the designer after meeting her on an elevator, and Stevie Nicks invited Sui to come backstage at a concert after she had dissed Fleet wood Mac in print. Musicians aren’t the only ones drawn to Sui’s colorful, evocative clothing: Her entertaining, accessory-laden shows always feature stellar castings.

Carolina Herrera

Written on April 16th, 2009 by shamsino shouts

Fashion Style, One of the perks of my job is participating in Thesis Week at Parsons. It’s amazing not only to see the students’ creativity—but also their own getups. Yesterday, a panel of industry “judges” including Carolina Herrera, Vogue’s Meredith Melling Burke, and John Bartlett gathered to see about a dozen collections (out of about 170). We saw accomplished hand-painted and draped dresses, fluoro swimwear, and a goat-fur coat, but everyone left talking about Julia Blum’s lingerie line called Ardor. The designer (who sported an Amy Winehouse-style beehive pinned with flowers) was inspired by Nabokov’s Lolita.
