Indian Saree Collection, There is a book on saree that was released a few months ago. The author is Vijay Singh Katiyar and it is published in association with National Institute of Design, Ahmedabad.
This book lends a new dimension to the way the traditional Indian sari is looked at, and upholds it as an epitome of holistic design with a unique creative expression. In the backdrop of Indian socio-cultural and economic ethos, the pages inside unfold the mesmerising woven yards of the sari, the quintessential piece of garment that has draped the Indian women since time immemorial. The volume aims to delight and enrich the aesthetic experience of the reader with information on a wide range of saris from both the past and the present.

Indian Saree Collection, The dream girl still looks dreamy in the pothey’s saree. Love the color and the intricate embroidery in the saree. About (2 lakhs Rs) $4,000, in case you are curious. There are four sarees that are exclusively Hema Sarees and I will post them over the next week or so.
Indian Saree Collection, Pankti is the winner of the Fair One Miss Mumbai 2009 fashion and beauty pageant held on Nov 1 at Royal Palms hotel, Goregaon. First runner up was Akanksha and second runner up was Divya.
Indian Saree Collection, The detail in this Saree is intricate but not too over-the-top. Love the vibrant colors too. This is part of Leena Tenaja’s new Saree collection. She is one of the newest rising stars among Indian Saree designers. Her bold creations have certainly caught my attention.

Pleats part in the front is divided into panels, embellished with floral buttis using sequins and resham.
Lower half is decorated with huge floral patterns embellished using green shade resham threads and sequins.
Pretty frills, along the edges in teal shade accentuates the saree. Pallu in peach shade is decorated with floral buttis embellished with sequins, resham and zari.
Paired with a matching blouse in teal shade, decorated with floral patterns using peach shade resham threads, zari and sequins. Sleeve border similar to saree border.Patch border in blue shade on the pallu is adorned with floral patterns embellished with resham, sequins and zari embroidery.

Indian Saree Collection, She is one of my all-time favorite actresses. She starred in a number of Bollywood hits and in my personal favorite, The Namesake. This lady is a true natural desi beauty, she never seems to flaunt the fact that she is gorgeous and keeps her look simple yet glamorous.
Tabu is angelic in this airy pink saree.
She is so simple,yet elegant. I love the intricate strap on her blouse.
Tabu looks great in whatever she wears. She could wear a potato sack and I bet she’d still look amazing.
Indian Saree Collection, Nita Lulla’s black and white sarees with self color design. They are not the same, but the concept is similar.
